Turtle Mountain Adventure Huts ready for summer tourism – DiscoverWestman.com

Turtle Mountain Provincial Park is a beautiful place to hike and bike, canoe or kayak, or fish on one of its many lakes, perfect for a day trip. However, if you want to immerse yourself more in the forests of Turtle Mountain, you might want to check out the Turtle Mountain Adventure Huts.

Adventure Huts owner and Boissevain resident Casey Guenther says the spring has been slow with cool, wet weather, but he is expecting a great summer. Guenther says he was surprised at the number of visitors they received from further afield; lots of the Westman area, but also a good amount of beyond Westman including Winnipeg.

“We opened our huts just before Christmas and we had a great winter there! We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of traffic we had in January, February and March. We had a very good snow season , ideal for skiing and snowshoeing, so they were well received and well used,” shares Guenther.

Two huts, including a third to be built later, can accommodate up to 5 people each. Barbecues, camp stoves, outdoor fireplaces and picnic tables are included in your stay. “It’s camping, but it’s a little easier for those who don’t have an RV or don’t want to haul all that stuff. We provide it all, you just bring your gear, your food and your bedding, and you’re setup.”

The cabins are located on the main Adam Lake trail. A short drive to Lake Max and Lake William can add to the outdoor experience. “It’s a beautiful place to be, whether you’re fishing, canoeing, or hiking or biking, there’s a lot of great activity up there in the park!”
