The snowstorm is bad if these 15 places close in Buffalo, New York

Snow doesn’t stop Western New Yorkers and their businesses. If these close, however, you know it’s a bad snowstorm.

There are certain things in every community that never stop. In Florida, it’s the Waffle House. The 24/7 restaurant literally never closes. It is open on all holidays and every storm. However, if they are closing, that means things are very serious. That’s exactly what happened this week when Waffle Hosue restaurants in Florida closed due to Hurricane Ian. Rightly so, and we all pray for those who live in the path of this horrible storm.

In Buffalo, the weather can be rough but never as dangerous as a hurricane. It is known for its heavy snowstorms. In fact, when the first or any big one happens, it’s common for national reporters to come here to show the “devastation”. Of course, there never really is. The good part about snow is that you can shovel snow and while it’s dangerous and no laughing matter, the people of Western New York are more than capable of handling it. It is a pride for all Buffalonians that the snow never stops us. This included business.

The truth is that when the snow arrives, little, if anything, closes. Schools have become more cautious in recent years with remote learning. Many people can now work from home. However, there are a number of locations that will be open no matter how much snow falls.

If these places close, that means it’s bad. Really bad. As Floridians know its bed when Waffle House closes, Buffalonians know its bad snowstorm when those businesses close.
