The snow ends and the storm leaves cold chills in its wake

Temperatures are bouncing back nicely this weekend, with another day of strong winds to come next week

INCHES OF SNOW OVER THE LAST DAY AND A HALF. OVER TO ERIC GREEN FOR THE FORECAST. THEY PLANNED TO OPEN ERIC AND THEN THEY JUST GOT THIS CHRISTMAS GIFT EARLY. TALK ABOUT THE TIME, RIGHT? I mean, I couldn’t have timed it better. LAST BATCH OF SNOW DEVELOPING OVER ALBUQUERQUE. IT’S SNOWING QUITE HEAVY AT THIS TIME. NOT VERY LONG, BUT AS I-40 EXTENDS TOWARDS THE CANYON AROUND THE CURRENT PIT AREA, IT GOES DOWN AND WE ARE PROBABLY THE INTERSTATE LINE SO VERY SLOW TRAVEL THE CANYON KNOW THERE IS A LITTLE MORE SNOW EXPECTED TO BREAK NORTH AND WEST OF IMPOSSIBLE FLURRIES AROUND LOS ALAMOS SANTA FE THIS MORNING I-40 IN GALLUP AND GRANTS WILL PROVIDE MODERATELY DIFFICULT CONDITIONS. SAME STORY ON HIGHWAY 550 NORTH AND WEST OF ALBUQUERQUE TOWARDS FARMINGTON AND 25 NORTH THROUGH SANTA FE GLORIANA PASS WHICH EXTENDS TO VEGAS RATON PASS MAY BE SLOW AT POINTS TO 25 SOUTH OF ALBUQUERQUE. LOW IMPACTS ON TRAVEL. WE BEGIN TO REACH THE PEAK OF MORNING WORK AND. THAT’S WHY WE ARE SLOW ON THE MAXIMUM 25 STEG THROUGH THE BIG RIDE LETTING THE COLD OUT. BUT I THINK WE HAVE DRY INTERSTATE LANES WITH THE WINDS OUT OF THE BIG STIFF IN CARS PASSING ON THE COLD SIDE OF THE STORM SYSTEM TODAY, BOUNDING WELL THIS WEEKEND. ANOTHER STRONG WINDY DAY LOOKS FORWARD NEXT WEEK. THIS IS FUTURE TRACK. YOU KNOW, THESE SPOTS ARE DISPERSED. FLURRIES OVER CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO. WORK GRADUALLY UNTIL NOON AND EARLY. LATER TODAY, EVEN WITH THE SUN IN THE QUARANTINES AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO, THERE WILL BE A SIGNIFICANT CHILLING FACTOR AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. BOY, REAL LIGHT STUFF, MAYBE UP TO AN INCH IN THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS AT POINTS, SNOW GUSTS ARE OCCURRING. SAME STORY. I AM PERFECT FOR CHRISTOS CHRISTO IN THE I-25 STRETCH TO VEGAS AND RATON, DRYING, WIND SETTING. MANY OF US BELOW FREEZING WELL BELOW FREEZING OVER WEST AND NORTH. WATCH ROSWELL. THE FORECAST 31 DEGREE LOW HAS NOT YET HAD A FREEZE IN ROSWELL. SO IN CHAVEZ COUNTY YOU WILL ENTER A FREEZE WARNING. WE WILL ALSO CATCH A FREEZING WARNING TONIGHT AROUND THE LAS CRUCES AREA AND POINT SOUTH TOWARDS EL PASO FOR SATURDAY AFTER THE COLD AFTERNOON STARTS TO REBOUND WILL BE UP AROUND 50. SANTA FE TAOS, CLOSER TO 60. ALBUQUERQUE 60 LOW 77. NEW MEXICO. AND ON SUNDAY ABOUT ANOTHER JUMP OF FIVE OR SEVEN DEGREES. WE ARE NEAR 60 TAOS, SANTA FE, MID 60s ALBUQUERQUE. LOOK AT THIS 70S IN SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO WITH JUST LITTLE PASSING CLOUD COVER. SO TODAY, THE WORST OF IT HERE IS GOOD TO PICK UP THE MOISTURE THAT. BEWARE ROADS COULD BE SLIPPERY ON A COLD WINDY AFTERNOON 30 TONIGHT BUT BOUNCE OVER THE WEEKEND NEARLY 70 ON ELECTION DAY TUESDAY NEXT DAY OF STRONG WIND HITTING WEDNESDAY. IT’S ASSOCIATED WITH A COLD
