December 19, 2021 (Running Springs) – Many upgrades to Snow Valley Mountain Resort await skiers and snowboarders for the 2021-2022 winter season in the San Bernardino Mountains. Improvements to Southern California’s oldest continuously operating ski area include a new 100 foot treadmill in the Children’s learning center; increased snow cover for the Snow Play toboggan area; and new Head rental equipment.
These and other upgrades are in addition to Snow Valley’s $ 8 million investment over the past four winter seasons, including the opening of Southern California’s only six-person high-speed chairlift, increased snow cover, increased access to the legendary Slide Peak, a faster equipment rental process, 100% expansion of Snow Play / toboggan runs, and new options for outdoor eating and drinking .
New in the base area: All buildings are freshly painted and the toilets completely renovated.
New to ski school: The new Sunkid 100-foot treadmill in the Children’s learning center Expands Snow Valley’s learning area and increases the number of runs new skiers and snowboarders can take during their lessons, preparing them more quickly to load regular chairlifts and mingle with experienced skiers and snowboarders. This allows Snow Valley to provide more lessons and lead to a decrease in demand for regular ski lifts. Falls are rare on a moving carpet. Ski school participants simply walk on the treadmill, like an airport treadmill, and stand still as it slowly carries them up the track where they slide. It is not possible to grab the front edge of a ski or snowboard, like on a cable, which leads to falling with a bruised ego. And no gloves or mittens get stuck like they can on a towline. Snow Valley is “Southern California’s # 1 beginner-friendly resort,” according to several Liftopia “Best in Snow Awards”.
“Snow Valley’s new moving mat makes learning easier and more fun,” said Kevin A. Somes, vice president and general manager of Snow Valley. “Budding skiers and snowboarders now comfortably climb the slope as if by magic. So, they look forward to their next hike and are likely to stick with the sport. Mingling with experienced skiers and snowboarders on traditional lifts and slopes can be very intimidating for new entrants.
New in the rental shop: For the first time, Snow Valley is offering online equipment rental reservations. Allow customers to save time, as they easily choose from among ha host of all new Head skis, snowboards, boots and helmets for adults and children, including the latest technology to improve everyone’s skiing and snowboarding. Snow Valley offers a friendly yet efficient approach to providing rental equipment, accommodating more people in less time. The experienced staff at Snow Valley Rental Shop provide a reception desk to answer customer questions, greatly reducing stress for beginners and near-beginners alike. This increases the chances that they will stick to snow sports.
New at Snow Play: Southern California’s only elevator-serviced toboggan run better than ever for winter 2021-2022, with snow cover extended up to 14 ways. This thrills non-skiers / snowboarders who want to enjoy beautiful winter mountains – and skiers and snowboarders who also want to toboggan. The Snow Valley Snow Play area is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Snow Play is a chairlift served from Friday to Sunday and during holiday periods. Other days the sleds go up the hill. Sleds are always included with Snow Valley Snow Play lift tickets.
New contactless ticketing: Snow Valley is expanding its contactless ticketing, introducing several new optional REDYREF interactive outdoor ticketing kiosks at traditional ticket counters for the purchase or collection of lift tickets purchased online. Snow Valley strongly encourages the purchase of tickets online at snow-valley.com.
New Season Pass partners: the 2021-2022 Snow Valley “Snow Pass” is arguably the best value in So Cal ski history, as it includes dozens of free lift tickets to ski resorts in California, Utah , Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, New York and beyond. And new for winter 2021-2022, Snow Valley “Snow Pass” holders can get even more lift tickets at 70 additional ski resorts in the United States, Canada and Japan by purchasing an additional option ” Indy Pass ”, which are only available to holders of a premium season pass at certain ski resorts.
