Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has announced plans to begin construction of new employee housing. Being one of the largest employers in the city – employing 600 people year round and up to 1,900 during the peak winter season – additional resort employee accommodation to provide long and short term employees will be beneficial.

Plans include a mix of apartment-style units made up of one-, two-, and four-bedroom options. Covering 31,000 square feet, more than 30 units will be built, essentially doubling the current amount, adding 90 more beds to the previous 92.

The new buildings will be located right next to the current employee accommodation, known as “Powderhorn 1”. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Target, Albertsons, post office and START bus stop.

This investment follows the completion of the North Stilson complex, consisting of 12 two-bedroom townhouses. The station continues to recognize the strong demand for employee housing in the area.

“JHMR is proud to invest in affordable housing options for our workforce that will relieve pressure on community housing demand,” Resort Chair Mary Kate Buckley said in a press release. .

Construction will begin in mid-April and will last approximately 16 to 18 months. The resort plans to be able to offer long-term and short-term accommodation for seasonal and permanent employees starting with the 2023-2024 ski season.
