Indiana has some great places to ski if you want to hit the slopes

This cold spell has people looking to snuggle up on the couch and others wanting to get out in the snow and hit the slopes. We’ve found places you can ski within driving distance of the Tri-State.

Although we don’t have Colorado ski hills here in the tri-state, we do have some really fun places to visit if you like to ski.

Paoli Peaks –these slopes are located in Paoli, Indiana and a short drive from anyone in these areas. Paoli opened last week. It is under new management offering eight runs on which visitors can ski and ride; Family Trails, Skywalker, Indiana Jones, Hoosier Bend, Haywagon, Mindbender and Discovery mats. They operate at different times throughout the weekend and weekends and if you are heading to the Paoli Peaks Facebook page. The tube slide will open later in the season.

Angel here and remember my first time at Paoli Peaks. Went with our church youth group and loved every minute. From the ski chalet to the various leveled slopes. I actually ended up on the wrong hill and accidentally went down Black Diamond. YIKES! Luckily I stopped halfway and got back up with help.

PERFECT NORTH SLOPES This is another ski resort located in southeastern Indiana, closer to Ohio, but still worth a visit. Just like Paoli, they have snow skiing, boarding and tubing. They have several trails to enjoy. If you think you want to make a weekend of it, there are even accommodation packages that include overnight stays and downhill skiing.

POKAGON STATE PARK is very close to Angola, Indiana is a pretty good drive from the Tristate but the perfect distance for a road trip. Although it’s not a ski resort, it’s super fun for the winter with a toboggan run.
