The Chicago area ushered in 2022 with a winter storm as constant snowfall blanketed the area, creating dangerous travel conditions and causing more than 1,000 flight cancellations.
Forecasters say accumulations between four and six inches are possible, as well as northeast winds with gusts of over 35 miles per hour.
