Outside view

Cruise’s cabin is nestled just outside Uncompahgre National Forest, with a private gate to enter. Usually buried in a blanket of snow, the house offers views of nearby 14,000 foot mountains and lush forests all around. The 320-acre property is criss-crossed with hiking, snowmobiling, and off-road biking trails, depending on the weather. It is also home to an aspen grove and a field that can be used for tennis, basketball or ice hockey.

Porch

Weather permitting – or if you can bundle up enough – the house has a rustic porch to watch the sunrise and sunset over the mountains. Natural-finished wood and wicker furniture carefully preserves the home’s aesthetic, though it’s clearly well-maintained.

Living room

Inside, the house is almost as big as the wilderness that surrounds it. A massive living room seats a dozen people under exposed beams and beside a roaring stone fireplace.

Library

For quieter occasions, a smaller sitting area faces another stone fireplace surrounded by books and blankets. Here, windows and doors overlook the mountains that Colorado is famous for.

Check-in room

The recreation room is clearly designed to be the liveliest part of the house, with a pool table, table football and an upright piano against one wall. A bar along the wall invites visitors to grab a drink while they hang out, and the cabinet against the wall may be the closest suggestion of a TV to any home photo.

Dining room

Cruise is a popular man, and the huge dining room in his house is designed to accommodate visitors. The ranch aesthetic holds firm here between light fixture and decor, though the table setting itself remains simple and inviting.

Finally, Cruise’s home is outfitted with a professional-grade kitchen featuring a massive stove, kitchen island with double sink, and wood-paneled refrigerators that match the rest of the furnishings. Cruise’s mansion is priced at $39.5 million at the time of this writing.
