Alterra Mountain Company Appoints New President and COO of Deer Valley Resort in Utah


DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Alterra Mountain Company today announced the appointment of Todd Bennett as President and Chief Operating Officer of Deer Valley Resort in Utah, effective August 1, 2022. A veteran of the hospitality and ski industry, Todd’s career has focused on improving the guest experience through his unique and extensive experience in The Walt Disney Company, Vail Mountain, and through the creation of the outdoor publishing company, Open Road Skiing Company.

Todd spent nearly two decades at The Walt Disney Company, most recently serving as Executive Director of Product. In this role, Todd led a team of executives and planners responsible for developing and optimizing merchandise, food and beverage, space planning and digital guest experience at Disneyland Resort in California. His previous roles with the company included positions as General Manager, Disney California Adventure Park; Downtown Disney General Manager, Parking and On-Site Sales; Director of Experience Design and Senior Member Development/Season Pass Manager. In these roles, he was responsible for developing the vision, strategy and execution of multi-hundred million dollar businesses serving millions of guests each year.

Todd began his career in the ski industry in 1999 in Colorado, spending several years at Vail Mountain overseeing operations, staff and customer relations, with a focus on improving service scores customer. Todd’s passion for skiing and the outdoors led him to co-found an artist-focused outdoor media company, Open road ski businessa direct-to-consumer publishing company that works closely with legendary ski map artist James Niehues, which led to one of the best-selling ski books of all time.
